Beyond medicinal cannabis, KPSA is actively working to identify new plant species with potential pharmaceutical and therapeutic applications. Our focus is on selecting and developing plants that can be successfully cultivated in the Netherlands, ensuring that these valuable crops can be grown, harvested, and processed locally. By bridging agriculture and life sciences, we aim to create sustainable sources of plant-based compounds that can contribute to future medicines and health solutions.

Medicinal cannabis remains a key area of exploration, with KPSA contributing to various projects that have helped advance understanding, regulation, and practical applications. Among these, one of our standout initiatives is a CBD project focused on delivering a pharmaceutical-grade CBD product in a Phase 2 clinical trial. KPSA has been involved from the very beginning, securing funding, structuring the research, and managing the project’s development from start to finish. This bottom-up approach, designed in close collaboration with patients, reflects our commitment to ensuring that innovative plant-based treatments are developed with real-world needs in mind.
